This new application is called Outlook for Android. If you use Microsoft Exchange Server, you should give it a close look.<\/p>\n<p><em><br \/>\nFor those in my audience not already rolling their eyes, I am a new user of Android and am still getting the hang of it. I suffered the frequent humiliations of a lame map app for several months before realizing I could dump it for Google Maps and actually get reliable directions.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Yep, that\u2019s me.<\/p>\n<h2>Installation and Setup<\/h2>\n<p>Fourth day <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/itrezzo-inc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on my new job<\/a> and my boss, a mail client and IT guru, tells me to download and setup Outlook for Android. \u00a0After he finished rolling his eyes as I loaded a micro SD card into my bottom-of-the-line Android phone (without which, I didn\u2019t have enough memory for the app). \u00a0App download, install, and setup was brief and simple.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"max-width: 260px;\" title=\"Outlook app\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/guide-outlook-android-app-1.png\" alt=\"Outlook android app\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Outlook Installation Screen<\/p>\n<h2>Launching Outlook for Android<\/h2>\n<p>In the last two decades I have dealt with many UI\u2019s&#8211;from the earliest Macs to Windows and even a few others thrown in. \u00a0Some have been like stroll in the park, and some have been like clawing my way up Everest. \u00a0Among these experiences, Outlook for Android is sublime.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"max-width: 260px;\" title=\"Outlook app screen\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/guide-outlook-android-app-2.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Outlook Home screen<\/p>\n<p>Select them menu icon from the home screen and as shown above, it is clean access to email, calendar and attachments.<\/p>\n<h2>Navigating the Inbox<\/h2>\n<p>Selecting Inbox, Outlook presents emails according to which are likely to be the most important and urgent, with a color and code in front to make them easy to identify.<\/p>\n<p>To my surprise, attachments were easy to open, read, and save to a cloud drive.<\/p>\n<p>Further, the entries are actually conversations indicated with a number and arrows such that tapping on any produces the recent email string, again with codes.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"max-width: 260px;\" title=\"outlook app inbox\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/guide-outlook-android-app-3.png\" alt=\"outlook app inbox\" \/><br \/>\nOutlook Inbox screen<\/p>\n<p>Cool managings: \u00a0swipe to the left moves the email to the trash (on the device and server). \u00a0A swipe to the right schedules the email for later reading or filing in a folder.<\/p>\n<p>Opening any email allows simple reply, reply all, forward, or delete.<\/p>\n<p>A tap on the envelope logo leads to a \u201cnew email\u201d screen.<\/p>\n<h2>Sending an Email<\/h2>\n<p>The Compose screen is as clean and fast as a Japanese bullet train.<\/p>\n<p>Left hand attachment icon allows the sender to attach a file, an image, or to shoot and attach.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"max-height: 260px;\" title=\"Outlook app is as clean and fast as a Japanese bullet train.<\/p>\n<p>Left hand attachment icon allows the sender to attach a file, an image, or to shoot and attach.<\/p>\n<p>The middle icon sends availability for a meeting or creates and invitation for one.<\/p>\n<p>The paper airplane does what they all do: it flies!<\/p>\n<h2>Managing Contacts<\/h2>\n<p>The contacts screen (called People) is integrated into the application. \u00a0It is intelligent and offers contacts from in the order of most recent use.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"max-width: 260px;\" title=\"outlook app contacts\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/guide-outlook-android-app-5.png\" alt=\"outlook app contacts\" \/><br \/>\nOutlook Contacts Screen<\/p>\n<p>A find function allows the user to call up anyone based on a few letters from their first or last name or company.<\/p>\n<p>The envelope icon to the right allows an email to be sent to that person using the application\u2019s compose screen.<\/p>\n<h2>Scheduling Appointments<\/h2>\n<p>The Calendar screen is similarly clean and thoughtfully designed.<br \/>\nGet to any date and hour with the swipe of a finger&#8211;no annoying drop-downs or spinning wheels.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"max-width: 260px;\" title=\"outlook app calendar\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/guide-outlook-android-app-6.png\" alt=\"outlook app calendar\" \/><br \/>\nOutlook Calendar screen<\/p>\n<p>If the app detects repeated swipes, a calendar page pops to select a date. \u00a0The page can be raised or lowered with a vertical swipe. \u00a0Days can be advanced or rolled back with horizontal swipes.<\/p>\n<p>Clicking on the big plus sign brings up a screen to schedule an appointment.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"max-width: 260px;\" title=\"outlook calendar event\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/guide-outlook-android-app-7.png\" alt=\"outlook app calendar event\" \/><br \/>\nOutlook New Calendar Event<\/p>\n<p>The new appointment screen is as clean and intuitive as the other parts of the app.<\/p>\n<p>Without drop-downs, spinning dates or time wheels, The app allows the user to schedule a meeting, to specify location, and to invite as many attendees as he or she wishes.<\/p>\n<h2>User Rating; 5 Sighs of Satisfaction<\/h2>\n<p>These are the observations of a new user who has spent only a few hours with the app. \u00a0Outlook for Android is simple to learn and use but has integrated functionality that works in cooperation with mail and cloud storage.<\/p>\n<p>With so many variations of the Android mail app, you might consider standardizing on this free and compelling mail client.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks, Microsoft +
