Following are permissions used for accessing Azure AD:<\/p>\n<h4><b>Graph API Permissions Required<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Read directory data<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Read user profiles<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Access organization directory<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note that set up in this environment does not need a dedicated on-prem user. System account will be used to start CiraSync On-Prem services and CiraSync On-Prem server Admin user to access UCM Admin application. Additional role based users can be added using UCM Admin Security configuration. This local admin account can still start\u00a0<strong data-start=\"1026\" data-end=\"1056\">CiraSync, CiraSync On-Prem<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong data-start=\"1062\" data-end=\"1081\">Contact Manager<\/strong>\u00a0as a local administrator.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"entry-title\"><strong>CiraSync Service Account Requirements for Hybrid Environments<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This guide provides a detailed breakdown of the CiraSync Service Account Requirements for Hybrid Environments:<\/p>\n<h3><b>Hybrid Environment<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>Hybrid environments involve\u00a0<b>synchronizing an on-prem AD with both Exchange on-prem and Office 365 mailboxes in Exchange Online<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><b>Use Case 1: For reading an on-prem AD and syncing directly to Office 365 mailboxes<\/b><\/p>\n<p>For syncing\u00a0<b>on-prem AD users<\/b>\u00a0to\u00a0<b>Office 365 mailboxes<\/b>, a combination of an\u00a0<b>on-prem service account and an O365 service account<\/b>\u00a0is required.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">NEED SERVICE ACCOUNT CREATED WITH: With access to the on-prem AD (we will use this user to run CiraSync On-Prem services and read the on-prem AD)<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Member of the \u201clocal administrator\u201d group on the server where the software will be installed<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/csop.cirasync.com\/de\/support\/preparing-windows-server\/\">Grant \u201clog-on as service\u201d rights on the server where the software will be installed<\/a><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Mail enabled (on-prem service account needs to have a mailbox.) \u2013 will be used to store majority of the CiraSync On-Prem UCM software configuration, including licenses<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Able to receive mail from internet (for licensing)<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">With Application Impersonation role (needs to be assigned to this service account)<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">All retention policies and archiving must be disabled on this mailbox. ( this is needed for basic configuration but also this on-prem service account will be used to open targeted user mailboxes that reside in exchange on premise) this is necessary to sync to those mailboxes<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">If you are reading on-prem and need to sync to 2 mailboxes on prem and in the cloud you just need 1 service account with a mailbox with exchange on premise. This is necessary for basic configuration, as well as for enabling the on-prem service account to open targeted user mailboxes residing in Exchange on-premise, allowing synchronization with those mailboxes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note: If you are reading from an on-prem AD and need to sync to two mailboxes\u2014one on-prem and one in the cloud\u2014you only need\u00a0<strong data-start=\"192\" data-end=\"199\">one<\/strong>\u00a0service account with a mailbox in\u00a0<strong data-start=\"234\" data-end=\"257\">Exchange on-premise<\/strong>.
